Vale Ian McPherson

The School community was saddened to hear of Ian McPherson’s passing in June 2020.

Ian was a valued member of our community, greatly involved in the BGS Foundation from its early days in the 1980s when fundraising became a strategic priority for the School.

Ian assisted to raise funds for many BGS building projects during his time on our Foundation, including the Rosstrevor Hall.  His hard work and enthusiasm sowed the seeds for future success in the School’s fundraising endeavours.

Ian was a keen BGS parent, always supporting his boys, Lachlan (OB 97) and Cameron (OB 94), in their various sporting activities including athletics, swimming, tennis, cricket, football and rowing.

We are delighted that the McPherson name continues at BGS with Ian’s grandson, William, now attending our Junior School.
